TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's lacrosse team finished the 2021 season No. 22 in the final IWLCA Division I Coaches Top 25 poll. The Tigers spent nine consecutive weeks ranked in the coaches' poll (March 1-April 26) during the regular season. The Tigers won eight of its first 10 games, including a 13-7 victory over then No. 8 Loyola. Towson (9-9) earned a spot in the NCAA tournament after playing the fifth toughest schedule in the nation.
3) Marshall's Record Setting Freshman Campaign
Freshman
Lindsey Marshall became just the second player in program history to win more than 100 draw controls, securing 102, the second most in a single-season - trailing only Hillary Fratzke who won 107 in 2006. The Catonsville High School product controlled at least five draws in 14-of-18 games. Named First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association and to the All-Rookie team, Marshall finished third on the team in points (38g, 15a). She had seven hat tricks, including a career-high five goals versus Georgetown.
2) Pearre Joins Exclusive 50-Goal Club
Blair Pearre, who earned All-Colonial Athletic Association and CAA Rookie of the Year honors in 2021, scored at least two goals in 15 of 17 games this season, including 11 hat tricks. She scored a career-best seven goals (on seven shots) in a win over William & Mary. The sophomore led Towson in goals (58), points (66) and groundballs (33) and finished second in draw controls (68). The former high school All-American had 31 free-position goals and ranked second nationally, averaging 1.82 per game. With the first of her four goals against Elon in the opening round of the CAA championship, she became the ninth Towson player to score 50 goals in a season, joining

1) Knocking Off #8 Loyola in Second Game at Tiger Field
The Towson University women's lacrosse team held #8 Loyola scoreless for more than 35 minutes on February 24 during a 13-7 victory at Tiger Field.
Nikki Sliwak scored four goals to lead the Towson offense. The Tigers controlled 15-of-23 draws against Loyola with
Blair Pearre,
Lindsey Marshall and
Olivia Malamphy combining to win 14 at the circle. All-American defender
Sami Chenoweth held Loyola All-American attacker Livy Rosenzweig to two assists and had her first career point when she assisted
Kerri Liucci on the goal that gave Towson the lead. The Tigers trailed 2-0 less than five minutes into the game, but scored six unanswered during a 10-minute stretch to take a 6-2 advantage into halftime. Liucci scored twice, while Marshall and Sliwak each had a goal and an assist during the run. Pearre added two free-positions goals in less than a minute early in the second half to give Towson a 9-2 advantage. Sliwak added her second of the game to make it 10-2 with 20 minutes to play as
Sonia LaMonica's squad defeated a ranked opponent for the first time since knocking off Johns Hopkins during the 2018 season.
