TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson University men's basketball player Alex Gavrilovic is headed back to the professional ranks, signing a contract with CSM Oradea in Romania for the 2021-22 season.
This will be the seventh professional season for the Strasbourg, France native. This past year, Gavrilovic played for Nizkny Novgorod in the VTB United League in Russia, leading his team to the postseason tournament. Including a Belarusian Cup victory in 2020 with Tsmoki-Minsk, Gavrilovic has also played professionally in France and Bulgaria.
CSM Oradea competes in the Liga Nationala, the top league in Romania. Oradea is one of the top teams in the country with league titles in 2016, 2018 and 2019. The team plays in the city of Oradea in western Romania near the border with Hungary.
After playing at Dayton, Gavrilovic played for Towson during the 2014-15 season, finishing the year with 162 points and 120 rebounds. He previously played for the U20 French National Team.
