Thirteen Gymnasts Earn WCGA Scholastic All-America Honors

BOWLING GREEN, OHIO -- With one last glimpse at the 2020-21 academic year, the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced its Scholastic All-America lists Wednesday morning.

The Towson University women's gymnastics program had 13 student-athletes honored: Lauren Bolen, Nikki Borkowski, Paige Casper, Tirzah Delph, Kyla Gamble, Sarah Girot, Jaz Kauffman, Amanda Pedicelli, Amy Stewart, Cassidy Stuart, Grace Vaillancourt, Tess Zientek and Allison Zuhlke.

"The resilience that these athletes have shown in the classroom during unprecedented times is inspiring," said head coach Jay Ramirez. "We are so proud of the academic accomplishments of our Tiger All American Scholars."

From the WCGA Release: From the WCGA: Overall, there were 58 teams with a team GPA of 3.5 or more on a 4.0 scale, up from 53 teams last year. There were 223 (15.41%) student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA, and a record number – 1,059 (73.19%) – of gymnasts with a 3.5 or better GPA. Last year there were 889 (65.56%) Scholastic All-America team members. This is the first time we have had more than 1,000 honorees.
