RICHMOND, Va. — After another first place finish this past weekend, Ainsley Jacobs has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Cross Country Runner of the Week. The honor was announced Tuesday afternoon by the conference. The award marks Jacobs' first as a Tiger.
This past weekend the graduate student won the Towson Alumni Invitational, covering the 5k course in 19:07.92, almost 34 seconds faster than the second-place finisher.
Jacobs also led the Tigers to their second team win of the season, defeating three other teams with a total 34 points.
Earlier this season, Jacobs also won the squad's first meet of the season, the Towson Invitational, with a time of 14:35.6 in the 4k race, a new personal-best. The black & gold won the meet, amassing 30 points.
Jacobs will next compete with the team in the Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh on Oct. 1.
