UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Towson women's indoor track and field team wrapped up its time at Penn State National on Saturday afternoon.
Ainsley Jacobs stole the show as she set a new school record of 9:48.26 in the 3000 meters. The previous record of 9:48.93 had been set in 2018 by Emily Johnson.
How it Happened
- Hayley Horvath placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.79 meters.
- Chalys Caruth came in eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 58.04.
- In the shot put, Kayla Thorpe came out as the top Tiger with a throw of 14.08 meters to come in sixth.
- Mia Martinez (1:45.87) and Alexandria Kitchell (1:48.65) placed seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 600 meters.
- Crystal Johnson took second place in the 200 meters with a time of 24.48. Cristal Cuervo also came in eighth with a time of 25.25.
- In the 1000 meters race, Alison Betler (3:03.60), Lexi Mogensen (3:08.22) and Rachel Thomas (3:08.70) finished one after the other in the seven, eight and nine spots.
- Jacobs claimed sixth place in the 3000 meters with her record-breaking time of 9:48.26.
- The 4x400 relay team comprised of Caruth, Cuervo, Jasmine Johnson and Mia Martinez placed eighth with a final time of 4:01.21.
