First Rotation
This Sunday marks another season for the Towson University women's gymnastics team as the Tigers dive right in with EAGL foe University of New Hampshire at the Wildcats' Lundholm Gymnasium in Durham.

In The National Rankings
Towson received votes in the preseason WCGA Coaches' Poll, pick up 202 points, putting Towson fourth in the RV column and just outside the top 36 teams in the poll. Likewise, UNH received votes with 86 points.

The Poised and Ready Tigers
Towson is coming off one of the top seasons in recent history for the program, earning a berth in the NCAA Regional Meet last spring amid a challenging season. Head coach Jay Ramirez begins his third season at the helm of the program and is joined once again by Ashley Sauer. The pair earned several coaching awards last spring, including EAGL's Head Coach and Assistant Coach of the Year awards.

Last season, Towson reached the NCAA Regional Meet for the first time in two decades as a team.

The Tigers bring back a huge amount of experience from a successful team, including All-EAGL First Team selections Camille Vitoff (vault, all-around), Lauren Bolen (vault), Emerson Hurst (beam), Jenna Weitz (beam) and Amy Stewart (floor).

Weitz (vault, floor), Nikki Borkowski (vault, floor), Stewart (bars), Vitoff (bars, all-around), Grace Vaillancourt (bars), Paige Casper (floor) all return after picking up Second Team All-EAGL honors last season.

The Tigers were picked to finish second in the Preseason EAGL Coaches' Poll, collecting 44 points and trailing on N.C. State's 58 points and two first place votes.

Scouting the Wildcats
New Hampshire returns for the 2022 season after going 9-3 in meets last spring and 5-1 in EAGL showdowns. The Wildcats did not compete at the 2021 EAGL Championships, withdrawing due to COVID-19 Protocols. Junior Robyn Kelley returns for UNH after she was named EAGL Specialist of the Year last season. Last spring, four Wildcats qualified for the NCAA Regional Meet, hosted at West Virginia University: Kelly, Kylie Gorgenyi, Hailey Lui and Alysaa Worthington. Lui tied for first place at the night session on beam, scoring a 9.875.

Starting Off With UNH
Sunday's meet marks the first time since the 2018 campaign the Tigers open the season at a meet with UNH, dating back to the Little Boston Invitational on Jan. 6, 2018. The Wildcats nipped Towson 194.175-193.800 that season. Joining the Tigers and Wildcats in Beantown were Maryland and Temple.

This weekend's meet is just the second time since Towson rejoined EAGL in 2013 that the Tigers will open the season at a meet with UNH and it will be the first time in that time frame the meet takes place on campus at either Towson or New Hampshire. By the end of Sunday's meet, the teams will only have met in season openers in New England, however, accounting for Lundholm Gymnasium's location in Durham, New Hampshire.
