Towson, Md.- Towson University Tigers tennis team followed a great first day with a strong second day with multiple players advancing to their flight finals in the Bedford Cup.

"We started off slowly in singles, but quickly rebounded after the first three matches", said Head Coach Jamie Peterson. "The comeback was highlighted by Olivia Rothfeld's close win over Morgan State's Ana Aran. We played much better doubles today and ended up going 4-0, highlighted by Olivia's and Antonia's close win over Morgan State. A better day overall, but we look forward to finishing tomorrow with three girls in singles finals and one team in doubles finals."

Day Two Results 
Singles
Testudo Flight:
Sarah Pospischill advanced to the Testudo flight final after No. 1 Hannah Smith had to retire due to injury. Pospischill will face Sifa Butcher for the flight championship.
 
Maryland Flight:

Antonia Lawson squared off against Lindsay Thompson and fell 8-1 in the semi-finals of the West bracket. Lawson will see Hana El-Sherif tomorrow.

Jessica Assenmacher played Taylor Garcia and dropped her match 6-0, 6-4. Assenmacher will go against Maitree Rout tomorrow.
 
Red Flight:
Sania Suchinsky fell against Lauren Splett 8-2 in the West bracket semi-finals. Suchinsky will face Alexandra Blackwell tomorrow.
 
Yellow Flight:
Olivia Rothfeld defeated Ana Aran in a three-set thriller. Rothfeld won the first set 6-1, then dropped the second set 6-1 and won the tiebreaker 10-8.  

Sissi Axelsson advanced past Lea Kosanovic due to injury. Axelsson will face fellow Tiger Rothfeld in the Yellow Flight championship.
 
White Flight:
Erin Gray defeated fellow teammate Nadeen Shrebati 8-2. Gray will face Jianna Benton, while Shrebati will face Emperess Johnson tomorrow.

Doubles 
Green Flight:
Assenmacher/Pospischill went against Jenin Al-Asadi/Emily Wirt and won 6-2. They will face Maitree Rout/ Ashley Fitz-Patrick tomorrow.

Rothfeld/Lawson defeated Ana Aran/Ana-Lei Kalawe-Edwards 6-4 and will square off Lauryn Hall/ Averiana Mitchell in the Green Flight championship.

Shrebati/Gray walked past Hana El Sherif/Alexandra Blackwell, then played the West Final against Jianna Benton/Stefania Moysiadi and won 6-2.

Blue Flight:
Kosanovic/Axelsson fell to Paige Gilbert/Ashley Kennedy 6-2 in the West bracket. The duo walked over Asmara Rose/Hannah Smith in their final match.
