Towson Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Cruise to Victory Against William & Mary at Burdick Pool

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming and diving program defeated William & Mary 163-131 Saturday afternoon at Burdick Pool.
 
The men's team beat the Tribe 216-77.

How it happened:
 
On the Women's Side
  • Freshman Shannon Parrau won both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives once again, with final scores of 221.48 and 239.55, respectively.
  • The 200-yard medley relay team of Ally Frame, Tiffany Matulis, Hailey Ritter and Maddie Mince took first place, clocking in at 1:44.82.
  • Bridget Thomas finished at 10:36.24 in the 1000 free, good for second.
  • In the 200-yard freestyle, Ava Enriquez(1:55.51), Victoria Dichak(1:56.41) and Thomas(1:56.49) finished one, three, four to score big for the Tigers.
  • Frame and Janine Murphy finished first and second in the 100 back, clocking in at 57.49 and 58.81, respectively.
  • Mince and Schulz took second and third in the 50 free, with times of 24.46 and 24.60.
  • Katie Nunez(52.42), Ava Enriquez(52.80) and Parker Schulz(53.45) finished two, three, four in the 100 free.
  • Frame, Madison Neal, Maddie Frick and Janine Murphy finished in the top four spots in the 200 back.
  • The 400 free relay of Dichak, Schulz, Mince and Enriquez capped off the meet with a resounding win, clocking in at 3:31.84, finished more than two and a half seconds ahead of the next finishers.
 
For the men:  
"Today was a total team effort. The divers started us off great and we carried the momentum to the end. We saw a lot of good things and some areas that we can improve on as we work towards next weekend's invitational," said head coach Anthony Bruno.
 
Next Time Out:
Both the men's and women's programs will travel across town next weekend for the Thomas Murphy Invite, hosted by Loyola, from Oct. 28-30. Prelims start at 10 a.m. each day. Friday and Saturday's finals will take place at 5 p.m., while Sunday's begin at 4 p.m.
