Towson Introduces Pete Shinnick as Head Football Coach

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University athletics department officially introduced Pete Shinnick as the new head football coach at a press conference on Wednesday morning.
 
Towson director of athletics Steve Eigenbrot and coach Shinnick each spoke to the attendees, including Towson President Dr. Kim Schatzel, Tiger football alumni and supporters, media, Towson University and Athletics staff and more on the SECU Arena concourse on campus.
 
Shinnick was announced as Towson head football coach on Sunday, Dec. 11.  The two-time DII Coach of the Year was previously at West Florida, leading the Argos to be the 2019 NCAA Champion and 2017 NCAA runner-up.  He has a career head coaching record of 159-67, including leading West Florida, UNC Pembroke and Azusa Pacific.
 
Shinnick is the fifth head coach in Towson football history.  The 2023 season opens Saturday, Sept. 2 at the University of Maryland.
