COLLEGE PARK, Md. — The Towson University tennis team fell to Maryland on Saturday evening, 4-0. The match was the third for the Tigers in three days to open the spring 2022 season.
This match is the toughest match on the schedule for sure and the girls competed extremely hard," head coach Jamie Peterson said. "We are well aware things we need to get better to get our first win. Howard Jones once sang 'things will only get better.'"
Doubles
Maryland got out to a quick lead by winning the doubles points. The Terps won matches on courts one and three to secure the point.
Singles
The Terrapins went onto take wins on the first three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the 4-0 win.
Jessica Assenmacher put up a fight on the third court, dropping a close first set 6-5 then the second, 6-3.
