UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Towson indoor track & field team found success in their second trip of the season to Penn State's campus.
Alison Betler won the unseeded mile and Christina Marion won the triple jump to lead the team on Friday. 12 Tigers also found their way onto the podium.
How it Happened
- Georgia Coleman placed third in the seeded weight throw with a toss of 18.70 meters. Samira Van Der Laan came in third in the unseeded weight throw with a mark of 13.67 meters.
- Coleman followed up with a second-place performance in the shot put with a throw of 13.06 meters. Kayla Thorpe followed in third with a mark of 12.71 meters.
- Hayley Horvath earned the bronze in the pole vault with a height of 3.91 meters.
- Christina Marion came out with a jump of 5.23 meters in the long jump to place fifth. Marion followed up with a first place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.31 meters. Aliyah Anderson was right behind her in second (11.21).
- Aliyah Anderson came in fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.60 meters.
- Alison Betler won the unseeded mile with a time of 5:15.83.
- Tajah Martin-Palmer came in third in the 60 meter hurdles, clocking 8.97.
- Towson placed three runners in the top five of the 400 meters. LeMeyah Charlton led the squad in the second (57.39) followed by Cristal Cuervo in third (58.17) and Chalys Caruth in fifth (58.62).
- Crystal Johnson took silver in the 200 meters with a time of 24.51.
- Aubrey Schaffer came in sixth in the 3000 meters (10:51.70). Lexi Mogensen finished in eighth in 800 meters, clocking 2:21.48.
