Behind the Numbers
  • Towson's 196.625 was the third-highest score in program history, tying with a similar score on March 21, 2003, also against Maryland. It is the second-best score for Towson at home and overall this season.
  • The Tigers' 49.100 on vault marked the third time this season the Tigers have hit at least that mark, which is tied for the third-best vault score in program history.
  • Towson and Maryland were the only teams to post four 49.000s or better on Friday night.
  • The Tigers finished 12-2 in duals at home this year. Combined between the gymnastics team, women's volleyball, women's basketball and men's basketball, Towson teams went a combined 53-7 at SECU Arena this academic year.
  • Friday was the 92nd meeting all-time against Maryland; the Terps have now won 47 times while the Tigers have 44 victories to their credit.
  • It was Senior Night for the Tigers. Following the awards ceremony, head coach Jay Ramirez, assistant coach Ashley Sauer and volunteer assistant coach Kristen Presutti Callihan honored the program's three seniors: Nikki Borkowski, Emerson Hurst and Jaz Kauffman.
  • The Tigers also recognized seniors from each school.
  • In addition to senior night, Towson held its first-annual Soft Dog Toy Toss, collecting over 200 plush toys for donation to the Maryland SPCA.
