TOWSON, Md. – Towson University's
Julia Jackson has been honored as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league on Tuesday.
Jackson earns her first-ever CAA weekly honor and the first for the Tigers this season. She is the first Towson softball player to pick up a CAA weekly honor since
Melissa Abrahamian was the CAA Pitcher of the Week on March 9, 2021.
Towson has won its last four games, including a pair of victories in the TU Tiger Clash on Friday over Monmouth and UAlbany.
The Simi Valley, California native earned a one-run complete game victory over Monmouth on Friday, allowing just four hits in seven innings. The senior struck out four en route to her sixth complete game of the season. So far in 2022, Jackson has a 3.85 ERA in 52.2 innings, striking out 38 batters.
Jackson and the Tigers will be back in action tomorrow in Philadelphia for a doubleheader against Villanova beginning at 1:30 p.m.
