BOSTON – The Towson indoor track & field team finished the ECAC Championships on Sunday afternoon in fourth place with a total 45 points.
UConn won the meet with 93 points while Northeastern (62) and Elon (49) rounded out the top three.
Crystal Johnson led the way for the Tigers with a first place finish in the 60 meter dash and a record-setting performance in the 200 meter. Hayley Horvath also took second place in the pole vault.
How it Happened
- Crystal Johnson started off the day strong for the Tigers, repeating as the 60 meter dash ECAC Champion with a time of 7.41, just shy of her own indoor program record, 7.40. Shamika Burton took fourth in the event, clocking 7.61.
- Johnson followed up with a second place finish in the 200 meter dash, setting the new program indoor record with a time of 24.13. The previous program high of 24.16 was set in 2019 by Liz Reid. Johnson now owns the indoor records for both the 60 and 200 meter dash.
- Cristal Cuervo also finished in fourth in the 200 (24.32).
- The Black & Gold placed 13th in the distance medley relay with a final time of 12:17.85.
- The 4x400 relay team of Chalys Caruth, Cuervo, Sydney Tucker and Jasmine Johnson took sixth, clocking 3:47.00.
- Georgia Coleman came in 12th with a mark of 12.85 in the shot put. Christina Marion took 16th in the triple jump (11.64).
- Hayley Horvath took silver in the pole vault with a height of 4.00 meters.
