BALTIMORE, Md. - The Towson University track & field team wrapped up the Legacy Meet on Saturday, hosted by Morgan State. The Black & Gold secured a first-place finish after accumulating 151 points. Morgan State followed in second place with 87.5 points and Delaware State rounded out the podium in third place with 87 points.
Field Events
In the pole vault, freshman
Brunell Owusu claimed first place after clearing 3.76m.
Ashley Umhoefer followed in third place with a 3.31m mark.
Senior
Kiara Murray finished in third place in the long jump after a 5.79m leap, ranking fifth all-time.
In the high jump,
Leeann Redlo placed first after clearing 1.75m.
Sierra Swangin followed in second place with the same height after clearing on her third attempt, ranking third all-time.
Freshman
Jaylynn Dorsey also secured a podium finish for the Tigers in third in the triple jump. Dorsey's mark of 12.10m ranks seventh all-time.
Track Events
In the 400m hurdles, sophomore
Deschanique Douglas claimed second place after crossing the line in 1:03.48.
Kelis Milburn placed seventh with a time of 1:04.82.
In the 4x100m, the combined relay team of
Kadidja Ouattara,
Bianca Durant,
Princess Asante and
Brianna Easley claimed first place after posting a combined time of 45.19.
Senior
Jasmine Scott placed third in the 400m with a time of 56.21.
In the 100m finals, Ouattara placed first with a time of 11.67.
Senior
Layla James secured a first-place finish for Towson in the 800m after clocking 2:11.50.
Towson took over the podium in the 5000m with performances from
Anna Amato (first, 17:40.85),
Rebekka Hillier (second, 18:39.83) and
Skylar Pizzulli (19:09.91). Amato's time ranks tenth all-time.
In the 4x400m,
Jaayah Jenkins, Scott,
Sophia Skinner and James ran 3:50.09 to place third overall.
