TOWSON, Md. – The Towson outdoor track and field team finished up a successful first day of the Towson Invitational on Friday evening.   
 
The Tigers ended the day with three first place finishes as well as 10 top 10 outcomes.  
 
How it Happened   

• Crystal Johnson came in first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.73. Sydney Tucker followed closely behind in third (11.92).   
• Trinytee Jacobs came in fourth the in the 400 meter hurdles, clocking 1:04.30.   
• Alison Betler led the Tigers in the 1500 meters, finishing in fourth place with a time of 4:51.36. Rachel Thomas also finished in the top 20, coming in 14th to finish in 4:51.82.   
• Nicole Bezborodko ended the 3000 meter steeplechase in third place with a final time of 12:09.40.   
• The Tigers were well represented in the triple jump with all two student-athletes finishing in the top 10. Denee Hibbert led the charge in seventh with a mark of 11.25 meters. Christina Marion followed in ninth with a best jump of 11.22 meters.   
• Hayley Horvath earned gold in the pole vault with a height of 3.86 meters in very windy conditions. Samantha Ronald (3.26) and Millie Klefsaas (3.11) followed in seventh and eighth place, respectively.  
• With a throw of 55.58 meters, Georgia Coleman won the hammer throw. Fatimah Owens also came in ninth with a mark of 44.19 meters. 
• Kayla Thorpe finished second in the shot put with a toss of 12.93 meters.

The Tigers will finish up the Towson Invitational on Saturday, April 2, with action starting at 11 a.m.
