PHILADELPHIA – The Towson University women's tennis team fell to Drexel on Wednesday afternoon at the Vidas Courts, 6-1.
After dropping the first point of the match, the Dragons went on to take all but one singles match to secure the win.
"Today was a day where we fell short in almost every category we needed to win," said head coach. Jamie Peterson. "A few of the girls got it going at some point which made it tight. But overall, we need to play with way more belief in ourselves, mental toughness and not get down so quickly at the first sign of adversity. We need to use way more positive energy."
Amelia Lawson got the win the court No. 2 after her opponent retired in the first set. Jessica Assenmacher (No. 3) and Sarah Pospischill (No. 4) battled, each pushing their respective matches to three sets, but it was not enough as Drexel pulled away to get the victory.
