Dickerson Earns CAA Baseball Player of the Week

TOWSON, Md. – After hitting .571 at the plate in four home games, Elijah Dickerson has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Baseball Player of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

This is Towson's first CAA weekly honor of the season and first of Dickerson's Towson career.  Towson earns a CAA Player of the Week for the first time since Richard Miller on April 10, 2017.

The junior outfielder had a tremendous week at the plate against No. 21 Maryland and Hofstra, hitting 8-for-14 (.571) and had a .714 on-base percentage after adding four walks.  He reached base twice in all four games and had a combined five extra base hits, including three home runs vs. Hofstra.  He also notched the Sunday walk-off RBI triple for Towson's extra inning victory over the Pride.

After two years starting at La Salle University, Dickerson has served as Towson's primary left fielder, currently leading the team in home runs with nine, triples with five and RBI with 31.  As of April 24, he is riding a seven-game hitting streak.

The Tigers will take on UMBC in Catonsville tomorrow at 6 p.m.
