Men’s Golf Returns to Action in the Lehigh Valley

HELLERTOWN, Pa. – After a fast and furious month of March, the Towson University men's golf team returns to action after a week off, heading to the Lehigh Valley for the Abarta Coca-Cola Invitational. Action is set for Sunday, April 10 and Monday, April 11.

Towson, Lafayette (Host), Bucknell, Canisius, Colgate, Fordham, Fairfield, Holy Cross, Iona, Lehigh, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, Niagara, Robert Morris, St. Bonaventure, Siena, Rhode Island and Villanova

The Rounds
  • There will be a shotgun start on both days.
  • The field is scheduled to play 18 holes on Sunday, followed by another 18 holes on Monday.
  • Sunday's action begins at 1:30 p.m. while Monday leads with a 9:30 a.m. start.

When We Saw Them Last…
After sitting in a tie for third place after 18 holes of the 2022 Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, the Towson University men's golf team put together its second win of the academic year, taking the team title at the event hosted by William & Mary.

Towson finished with a team score of 882 (294-300-288–882) to win the event by seven strokes over Georgetown (287-301-301–889), which was in first place entering the final round. Old Dominion (302-308-289–899) finished third overall.

 
The Tigers were one of three teams with a third-round score below 300, leading the action on Tuesday with a 288. Old Dominion registered a 289 on the final round while one of Penn's squads recorded a combined 293.

Freshman
Phil Minnehan finished tied for fourth overall, carding a one-over 72 in the final round on the 6,817 yard course.

  • Towson is set to compete for the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship.
  • The league tournament is set for three rounds over three days from Sunday, April 24 to Tuesday, April 26.
