Scott Returns to Great Britain National Women’s Softball Team

BARCELONA, Spain – Former Towson University standout Kendyl Scott has returned to the Great Britain National Women's Softball Team to compete in the European Championship in Spain later this month.

The European Championship will be in the Barcelona Province of Spain from July 24-31.  Great Britain will play in Pool C along with the Czech Republic, France, Turkey and Ukraine.

Scott will be in the team's training camp before heading to Spain.  This is the first tournament for Great Britain since 2019.  With a strong finish, Great Britain could potentially qualify for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

The La Quinta, California previously competed with Great Britain in the 2017 European World Championships, helping the UK finish third.  Scott holds duel citizenship with England with her father being born there.

Towson's centerfielder from 2015-18, Scott finished her Tiger career with a .402 batting average in 219 games, earning 51 doubles, 24 home runs, 125 RBI and 47 stolen bases.  The two-time First Team All-CAA honoree and 2018 All-NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team outfielder finished eighth in Division I with a .449 batting average, hitting 22 doubles and eight home runs that year to help Towson win 42 games and earn a trip to the Women's National Invitational Softball Championship.

Great Britain plays its first game on Sunday, July 24 against Turkey in Barcelona.
