TOWSON, Md. — Towson University men's golf head coach Mike Larkin announced the 2022 fall schedule on Thursday afternoon. The team will compete in six tournaments throughout two months of competition, traveling to New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and within Maryland.
"This is an exciting fall for us," Larkin said. "To start, the guys have been playing great golf this summer, so I'm really excited about our roster coming in this year. But additionally, we've bolstered what is typically already a great fall schedule with a lot of incredible championship level golf courses."
For the second consecutive season, Towson will open up the fall slate at the Turning Stone Tigers Intercollegiate hosted by Missouri. The event will take place from Sept. 4-5 at Turning Stone Resort (Kaluhyat Course), in Verona, New York.
The team will head back to the Empire State for The Doc Gimmler on Sept. 10-11 hosted by St. John's. The two-day competition will be held at Bethpage State Park (Red Course) in Farmingdale, New York.
"It's always a priority for us to give our student-athletes an awesome golf experience, and this fall really highlights that with the course lineup," Larkin added. "I can't wait to get the guys back on campus at the end of August to get to work."
From Sept. 19-20, Towson will see action in the Hartford Hawk Invitational at the Bull's Bridge Golf Club in South Kent, Connecticut.
To finish out the opening month of the season, the Tigers will head to the Howard/San Francisco Intercollegiate on Sept. 26-27. The event will take place at the prestigious TPC Potomac in Potomac, Maryland.
The Black & Gold will finish the campaign with two tournaments in Pennsylvania. From Oct. 9-11, the team will compete in the Bucknell Fall Invitational, held at the Bucknell University Golf Course in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
In its final competition of the fall, Towson will compete in the Lehigh University Invitational from Oct. 21-22. The event will be played on the Grace Course of the Saucon Valley CC in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
"We've added a premier event at TPC Potomac as well as one at Saucon Valley," said Larkin. "TPC Potomac just hosted a PGA Tour event earlier this year, and Saucon Valley hosted this year's US Senior Open. On top of that, the event co-hosted by Howard at TPC Potomac includes multiple top 50 teams in the nation, so we'll get to test our skills against some of the best competition, which always makes us better."
