TOWSON, Md. – Towson University wide receiver
Isaiah Perkins has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week, announced by the league on Monday morning.
Perkins earns this award after his first-ever collegiate game. He is the first Towson player to earn CAA Rookie of the Week since Nov. 2017.
The Laurel, Maryland native led Towson in receiving yards on Saturday with 81, making six catches. He had two very important catches in the game:
--A 26-yard reception to get Towson to the Bucknell 5, followed by a
Devin Matthews touchdown
--A 15-yard catch to convert a 4
th and eight in overtime to continue Towson's touchdown drive
Perkins helped Towson win its season opener at Bucknell 14-13 in overtime. The Tigers have won their last five season opener, including the last four on the road.
