WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Towson University women's and men's swimming teams split against William & Mary in each squad's first road dual Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) meet of the season. Towson's men's team defeated W&M 141-121. The women's squad fell 199-63 to the Tribe.

- Evan Bota, Brian Benzing, Benjamin Eischeid and Luke Schwar took second in the 200-medley relay with a time of 1:31.17.
- Teddy Ament took second in the 100 free with a time of 9:45.19.
- Eischeid placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:42.47.
- Sean Colson went 50.84 in the 100 back, good for second in the event.
- Benzing won the 100 breast with a time of 54.32, which marks a pool record in the event, breaking the previous mark of 55.63 set by ODU's Arni Arnason on 10/18/2008.
- Theo Dietrich went 1:56.35 in the 200 fly, good for third place.
- Michael Fazio took first in the 50 free with a time of 20.92. Schwar took third (21.32).
- Schwar (46.66), Daniel McLaughlin (46.93) and Fazio (47.18) went 2-3-4 in the 100 free.
- Colson finished first in the 200 back with a time of 1:50.16.
- Benzing took the 200 breast at 2:02.35, almost five seconds ahead of the next-closest finisher.
- Ament placed first in the 500 free at 4:39.83. Stephen McDonald took third (4:45.89).
- Benzing won his third event of the day in the 200 fly with a time of 48.55. Eischeid finished third (51.12).
- David Walton won the 200 IM with a time of 1:54.78.
- The 400-free relay team of Eischeid, Fazio, McLaughlin and Schwar took the top spot with a time of 3:04.50, securing the victory for the Tigers.
On Deck:
The Tigers' men's and women's swimming & diving teams are competing in the Thomas Murphy Invitational, hosted by Loyola, with UMBC and Johns Hopkins. The meet begins Friday, Oct. 27, running through Sunday, Oct. 29. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. daily with finals sessions slated for 6:00 p.m. each evening.
