TOWSON, Md. – Towson women's soccer seniors Nia Christopher and Riley Melendez were named CAA Co-Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week the conference announced on Monday. Both had a strong week that ended with the Tigers winning their first CAA Regular Season title in program history.

Christopher had a goal and an assist in both wins against William & Mary (3-0) and Hofstra (2-0) this past week. This is the third time Christopher has been named CAA Offensive Player of the Week this season, the most of any player in the league this year.

Melendez picked up her second defensive player of the week award after helping the Tigers to two shutouts this past week. The Virginia native recorded nine saves over the two games including a season-best seven against Hofstra on Sunday.

The Tigers will be the one seed for the upcoming CAA Championships. Towson will have a bye into the semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. facing the winner of No. 4 Northeastern and No. 5 William & Mary who play on Thursday, Oct. 26 at Tiger Field at 7 p.m.
