Five Tigers Earn Personal Records at Penn Challenge

Philadelphia, PA – The Towson University track & field is already off to a strong start for outdoor season, completing the first meet with multiple PRs and podium finishes.

How it Happened – Track

The women's 4x100 made up of Sydney Tucker, Maya Tucker, Ty'Liyah Hannah and Cristal Cuervo placed second overall after clocking a 46.88, which is good enough for seventh all-time.
The distance squad had quite a successful day, as multiple Tigers earned new PRs in the 1500. Beighley Ayers led the way with a 4:49.95. Lexi Mogensen (4:53.84), Morgan Loewe (4:57.58), Aubrey Schaffer (4:59.05) and Sophia Skinner (5:10.80) all picked up new PRs in the event.
Sydney Tucker placed second out of 14 athletes in the 100m with a time of 12.12. Kiara Murray competed in the event as well, clocking a 13.41
Emily Lunger (1:07.33) and Leeann Redlo (1:09.14) competed in the 400m hurdles.
Cristal Cuervo placed third in the 200m with a time of 25.08. Princess Asante (26.80) and Aliyah Anderson (28.37) ran the event as well.

How it Happened – Field

Leeann Redlo was the top finisher for the Tigers in the long jump with a mark of 5.43m. Denee Hibbert (5.40m), Skylar Galiano-Holmes (5.16m) and Kiara Murray (5.10) participated in the event as well, all finishing right behind Redlo.
Galiano-Holmes competed in the triple jump as well, completing the event with a 11.45m mark.
Fatimah Owens threw a 13.30m in the shot put, followed by Georgia Coleman's 12.04m.
Fatimah Owens went on to place third in the discus throw, earning a new PR of 48.24m.
Georgia Coleman threw 54.79m in the hammer throw, good enough for fourth place.

Up Next

The Tigers head down to Orlando, Florida next week for the UCF Knights Invite on March 24 and 25.
