Philadelphia, Pa. – The Towson University gymnastics team placed second at Temple's quad meet on Thursday afternoon, falling to Maryland by nearly half a point. For the second consecutive meet the Black & Gold found most success on vault, where two gymnasts collected career highs. Seven Tigers placed in the top-five and five made their way onto the podium.
Maryland posted a 196.600, supported by two individual first place finishes on bars and beam. Towson took silver with 196.050. Host Temple placed third with 195.275 while West Chester finished in fourth with a 194.275.
Temple's Ashley Glynn placed first in all-around with a 39.175.
How it Happened
Bars – 49.225
- Steph Macasu led the way with a season high 9.900, which also matches her career best. The sophomore took second in the event overall.
- Teammate Grace Vaillancourt joined Macasu on the podium, placing third with a 9.875.
- Camille Vitoff and Isabella Minervini posted a pair of 9.825s.
- Temple took an early lead, claiming first after rotation one. The Tigers trailed right behind them, sitting in second by .025 points.
Beam – 48.750

Vault – 49.325
- The Tigers certainly brought the heat for their final rotation of the evening as they posted the highest vault score of the meet.
- Camille Vitoff took gold in the event after receiving a career high 9.925. The score ties her with Polina Belanovski for fifth best in Towson history.
- Right behind her was Jenna Weitz who placed second after also posting a career high of 9.900.
- Lauren Bolen was the next finisher for Towson, tying for fifth with a 9.875.
