TOWSON, Md. – Under first-year head coach
Laura Harper, the Towson University women's basketball team wrapped up the 2022-23 regular season on Saturday with a 13-5 conference record and finished in a first-place tie in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) standings. The Tigers will be seeded first in the upcoming CAA tournament after winning tiebreaker scenarios with both Drexel and Northeastern, who also finished with 13-5 records.
The five-day event will he held at SECU Arena beginning Wednesday, March 8. The championship game is Sunday, March 12 and will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
"I am just excited," said Harper. "I love our fans. I love this arena. It is beautiful and will showcase wonderfully. Our Towson community supports us in a way that you can't even imagine. I just hope our girls are relaxed, show up and compete."
Towson, who has won six of its last seven games, will open up the tournament on Friday, March 10 at 12 p.m. versus the winner of No. 8 Delaware- No. 9 Hampton.
"Hosting the CAA tournament on our campus is incredible on a lot of levels," Towson University Director of Athletics
Steve Eigenbrot said. "Our community has wrapped its arms around Coach Harper's program, so the ability for us to host in her first year at the helm is incredible timing and a great opportunity."
Tickets for Wednesday's first round contest can be purchased for just $6 for general admission and $8 for reserved seating. Single-day tickets for the remainder of the tournament start at $12 for general admission or $15 for reserved seating. Single-day tickets can be purchased at

On behalf of the TU Foundation, Towson University will offer the first 200 faculty and staff a complimentary ticket for the Tigers' quarterfinal matchup Friday at noon at SECU Arena. The first 200 TU faculty and staff to enter through Gate 1 of SECU Arena and show their OneCard will receive a free ticket. TU shuttles or park in Lot 8 in front of the Towson Center, located at 7537 Auburn Drive. Gates will be open beginning at 11 a.m.
Staff and faculty at any CAA institution may purchase tickets for $5 per day with a valid ID.
Towson University students will receive one complimentary ticket per day by showing their One Card at the Gate 1 ticket window.
