TOWSON, Md. – Towson University women's basketball announces that forward Anasia Staton will join the Tigers for the 2023-24 season, head coach
Laura Harper announced Wednesday.
"We are honored to sign a national champion in Anasia Staton. Her ethics, values and work align perfectly with Towson Women's Basketball and she will fit perfectly when our current roster," said coach Harper. "Anasia is a three-level scorer that plays on both ends of the basketball. We are lucky to have another player from the legendary Mike Seney representing CCBC with pride alongside
Patricia Anumgba."
Staton comes to Towson after playing two seasons for the CCBC Essex Knights. The NJCAA All-Region player was named an NJCAA Division II All-American after averaging 13.1 points on 38.1% shooting and had a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. She helped guide CCBC Essex to its first NJCAA DII National Championship after scoring 18 points in the championship game.
Staton was named to the NJCAA DII Women's Basketball Tournament All-Tournament Team after averaging 11.8 points and seven rebounds per game during the tournament, including a 16-point and 12-rebound double-double in the NJCAA semifinal.
A native of Jersey City, New Jersey, Stanton will join Anaiah Jenkins and Caydence Hadley in Harper's first signing class.
