Track & Field Earns Nine PRs At Two Local Meets

Baltimore, MD – The Towson University track and field team's eventful Saturday was cut short due to weather, but the Tigers still managed to find success across multiple different events at two different local meets.

How it Happened – Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational
  • Kiara Murray picked up a collegiate PR in the 100-meter dash by .10 seconds.
  • Aubrey Schaffer was less than a second off of her PR in the 1500 meter, clocking a 4:56.85. Morgan Loewe competed in the event as well.
  • Georgia Coleman placed second in the hammer throw with the fifth best mark in program history of 56.38 meters. Fatimah Owens took fifth in the same event.
  • Marisa D'Angelo competed in the pole vault, finishing with a height of 3.34 meters. 
  • Fatimah Owens won her second consecutive shot put this season, earning a PR as well after throwing the fourth best mark in Towson history - 14.38 meters. Georgia Coleman followed in third place with a mark of 12.41 meters.
  • Kira Parsons won the javelin throw with a season best mark of 39.42 meters which qualifies for eighth best in school history.
 
How it Happened – Morgan State Legacy Meet
  • Maya Tucker was the top finisher from Towson in the 400-meter, clocking a PR and the ninth fastest time in school history – 56.64. Satori Valentine earned a season best of 58.06 while Princess Asante ran a PR in the same event.
  • Denee Hibbert earned a PR in the 100 meter dash of 12.47. Diamond Richardson competed in the event as well.
  • Cristal Cuervo saw a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash after running the third fastest time in program history. She picked up a new PR of 24.04 in the event. Ty'Liyah Hannah earned a PR as well, tying the 10thfastest time in history of 24.67. Princess Asante collected Towson's third PR in the event, clocking a 25.87.
  • Leeann Redlo won the high jump with a mark of 1.70 meters while Aliyah Anderson placed third with 1.65 meters.
  • Manie Mevo (11.68 meters) placed sixth in the triple jump with the 10th best mark in program history.

Those who qualify will compete in the Penn Relays on April 27-29 at the University of Pennsylvania.
