For the past five years, Towson University has come together as a campus community to celebrate philanthropy on its annual TU Big Give – a 24-hour online fundraising challenge to strengthen different areas of TU – from scholarships and academic and athletic programs to colleges, departments, emergency funds, hands-on learning opportunities and so much more. Each year, TU Athletics has joined in on the fun, and this year was no different.

On April 26, 2023, TU Athletics raised $103,619.28 from 707 donors in just 24 hours. The goal for the day was to rally 500 donors to give $50,000 collectively and our fans stepped up to the plate! TU Athletics supporters accounted for 28% of the total dollars ($375,322) and 43% of the total donors (1,663) raised by the University that day.

"This year's Big Give was truly remarkable when you consider we raised more money this year than the previous four annual giving days combined," said Athletics Director Steve Eigenbrot. "It's a testament to the hard work and commitment shown by our student-athletes, staff, campus partners and generous supporters."

The Tiger Athletic Fund worked hard to prepare for the day and motivated different areas within the whole to get involved. Here are a few highlights –

• 92 of the 132 Athletics Staff members made a gift on TU Big Give (74%)
• 100% of all Head Coaches made a gift on TU Big Give
• Almost 200 current student-athletes participated, with 100% of 7 teams rosters making a gift
• 219 Alumni Athletes made a gift to Athletics on the day
• 15% of alumni athletes from gymnastics and women's golf made a gift, earning them the number 1 and number 2 spot in the Alumni Athlete Challenge
• Gifts came in from 31 states plus Washington, D.C., Canada, Finland and the Netherlands

The Tiger Athletic Fund would like to thank all of those who participated in TU's Big Give. The support truly allows for coaches and administration to enhance the student-athlete experience, as the department strives to develop young people to be productive citizens all while winning championships along the way.
