Towson Women’s Soccer Announces 2023 Schedule

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University women's soccer head coach Katherine Vettori announced the 2023 schedule on Wednesday. The Tigers' 2023 slate will feature eight home games with the season getting started on August 17 in Philadelphia at La Salle.
Admission for all Towson home games at Tiger Field are free to the public.

Towson comes into the new season after a record breaking 2022 campaign. The Tigers reached the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament Semifinals for the first time in program history after their first CAA Tournament win. The team allowed just 11 goals all season, the fewest in program history behind a solid year from CAA Goalkeeper of the Year Riley Melendez. The team's 12 wins were the most in a season since 2011. Along with Melendez, Nia Christopher, Phoebe Canoles, Jasmine Hamid and Maja Hansson also earned all-conference honors.

The Tigers will kick off the season in Philadelphia against La Salle on Thursday, Aug. 17 at 6 p.m. Towson will make their home debut against Howard just three days later on August 20 with a 6 p.m. start at Tiger Field.

Towson will also host local-rival UMBC (August 31) in the month starting at 6 p.m. Sandwiched around that game will be a pair of road contests at Mount St. Mary's on August 24 and down in College Park against Maryland on September 3.

The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) season gets started on September 7 and 10 with the Tigers hosting Delaware and Charleston. The Tigers will then head to North Carolina for games against Elon (Sept. 14) and CAA newcomer Campbell (Sept. 17). Towson ends the month with home contests against Drexel on Sunday, Sept. 24 and Stony Brook on Thursday, Sept. 28. The game against Drexel will also serve as Senior Day.

October opens on the road at Hampton (October 1) and Monmouth (Oct. 5) before a singular home match against UNCW on Sunday, Oct. 8. Two of the last three regular season games will be played away from Tiger Field with the Tigers traveling to Northeastern on Sunday, Oct. 15 and William & Mary on Thursday, Oct. 19. The regular season finale will feature a rematch of last year's CAA Semifinals with the Tigers hosting Hofstra at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22.

The 2023 CAA Championships will feature eight teams with the first round on October 26, semifinals on October 29 and the championship match on Saturday, Nov. 4.
