TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's volleyball team was picked to finish first in the coaches' preseason poll for the third consecutive year announced by the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) on Wednesday afternoon.
  
The Tigers were voted as the unanimous favorite picking up all 11 first-place votes and 121 points after going 29-2. The Black & Gold won their fourth consecutive CAA Tournament title and earned an eight seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Victoria Barrett and Nina Cajic were named to the Preseason All-CAA Team, while Zyare Abdul-Rahim and Aayinde Smith earned Honorable Mention honors. Delaware's Lani Mason was voted the CAA Preseason Player of the Year.

Victoria Barrett was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America Honorable Mention and First Team All-CAA in 2022. The Stafford, Virginia native led the Tigers in kills with a career-best 329 kills, including 19 matches with double-digit kills. The junior outside hitter ranked second on the Black & Gold last season with 230 digs, including a career-best 22 digs against Princeton. Barrett finished 13 matches with a .300 hit percentage or better, including five with a .500 or better. She added six double-doubles and 31 service aces to finish second on the team.

Nina Cajic earned First Team All-CAA and AVCA East All-Region Honorable Mention honors last season after amassing a career-best 303 kills last season, including a career-best 21 against Hofstra to secure the CAA regular season title. Cajic totaled a .374 hitting percentage last season ranking first in the CAA. The senior outside hitter finished with double-digit kills in 15 matches. Cajic had 21 matches with a .300 hit percentage or higher, including ten matches with .500 or higher. The Subotica, Serbia native added a career-high 81 total blocks, including a career-best nine total blocks against North Carolina A&T.   

The Tigers open the 2023 season with a pair of matches against South Carolina on Aug. 25th & 26th.
