TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team and the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) have announced the full 2024 schedule.
Towson will play five home games at Johnny Unitas® Stadium plus an eight-game conference schedule. All times for the season, promotions for home games and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
The Tigers are coming off their first season under head coach
Pete Shinnick, earning two road victories over then top-15 programs New Hampshire and William & Mary. Going 4-4 in CAA play, the Tigers have earned a .500 or better CAA year four of the last five fall seasons.
All teams who will compete in CAA football in 2024 had their schedules released on Wednesday.
Towson's season opens with a trip to Ohio to play at Cincinnati, member of the Big 12 Conference, on Aug. 31. This is the first-ever meeting between the Tigers and Cincinnati and Towson's second game against a Big 12 opponent since 2022.
The Tigers open at home with the next chapter of The Battle for Greater Baltimore, hosting Morgan State on Sept. 7. Towson, winner of the last six matchups, and Morgan State are separated by five miles, the closest pair of teams in all of FCS play.
Towson plays a pair of road games against 2023 NCAA FCS Tournament participants in the following weeks, starting with a match at Villanova, 2023 CAA co-champion, on Sept. 14. The next week, the Tigers head to Fargo to take on North Dakota State, 2023 NCAA FCS semifinalist, for a Sept. 21 game.
After a bye week, Towson returns to league play with the CAA home opener vs. William & Mary on Oct. 5. The following Saturday, Towson takes on another Virginia-based opponent, playing at Norfolk State on Oct. 12 in its last non-conference contest of the season.
The Black & Gold return to Unitas for the resumption of conference play with a contest vs. Stony Brook on Oct. 19.
The Tigers have a pair of road games to continue league play, beginning with a trip up north to play Monmouth on Oct. 26, then a ride south for a game against 2023 CAA co-champion Richmond on Nov. 2.
Unitas will host back-to-back games against CAA opponents as Towson wraps up the home slate, lining up vs. Hampton on Nov. 9 and North Carolina A&T on Nov. 16.
The regular season wraps up on Nov. 23 with Towson's first-ever game against Campbell in North Carolina.
