COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Towson University gymnastics team opened its season Sunday afternoon at Ohio State, finishing the tri meet with a final score of 195.225.
The Tigers led throughout their first two rotations of floor and vault, receiving scores in the top 10 all-time for both events. The team started off with a 49.275 on floor, led by five scores above 9.800. Towson was able to extend its lead after posting the highest team vault score of the meet, 49.250, for the second rotation. The Black & Gold fell to Ohio State after struggling in the third rotation, ultimately placing third at the conclusion of the meet.
The Buckeyes posted a season high 197.150 to win their home opener, followed by Ball State with 195.650.

- Camille Vitoff posted a 9.900, just .25 shy of her career high to make it onto the podium. The graduate student tied with Ohio State's Nicole Riccardi for second place.
- Jenna Weitz received a 9.875 after sticking her landing, tying for fourth overall.
- Elise Tisler picked up a new career best of 9.850 to finish right behind Weitz in fifth place.
- Adriana Hoffman and Felicia Poblete logged 9.825 and 9.800 respectively.
