TOWSON, Md. – After posting a new career high at her first meet back from an injury, Towson University gymnast
Elise Tisler has been named East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Specialist of the Week. EAGL made its announcement Wednesday morning.
Tisler competed in the lineup on vault and floor at Towson's season opener against Ohio State and Ball State on January 14. The Virginia native earned a new career high of 9.850 on vault, landing her a fifth-place finish overall out of 22 gymnasts. Tisler's performance aided Towson scoring the third highest vault score in program history, 49.250. The junior currently ranks fourth EAGL on the event as well.
On floor Tisler received a 9.8, which helped the Tigers achieve their second 49 or above score of the meet.
Tisler shares this weeks award with New Hampshire's Serena Mullin. Sarah Zois of George Washington and Syd Morris of LIU were awarded Gymnast of the Week while LIU's Kate Parks was named Rookie of the Week.
The Black & Gold head up to Philadelphia this Sunday for a dual meet at 5:00 p.m. with EAGL foe Temple.
