Towson Gymnastics Posts Highest Home Opening Score In Program History At Chellie Calloway Invitational

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University gymnastics team posted the highest home opening score in program history at the Chelllie Calloway Invitational, winning the first home meet of the season with a 195.475. New Hampshire finished in second with a 194.475 followed by George Washington with a 194.400. Cornell rounded out the meet, finishing in fourth with a 192.825.  

The Tigers started off strong, matching their season high 49.250 on vault during the first rotation to establish a solid lead. The Black & Gold put up their second 49 of the night for the second rotation on bars, logging four scores of 9.850 or higher. Towson struggled on beam, posting their only score under 49 before bouncing back with the fourth highest floor score in school history, 49.350. Each Tiger that competed in the lineup posted scores of 9.800 or better.

Towson had individual wins in three of the four events, concluding the meet with six total podium finishes. Multiple Tigers picked up career highs as well.

Rotation One – Vault – 49.250
  • Camille Vitoff led the Tigers to their third highest beam score in program history after posting a season and career high 9.925 to tie for first place, receiving a perfect score from one judge for the second time this season.
  • Felicia Poblete and Retoshia Halsell logged a pair of 9.850s, collegiate career highs for both gymnasts, to tie for fifth.
  • Jenna Weitz posted a 9.825 followed by Adrianna Hoffman with a 9.800. Elise Tisler rounded out the squad with a 9.750.
Rotation Two – Bars – 49.225 Rotation Three – Beam – 47.650
  • Clara Hong posted a 9.775 for Towson's highest beam score, tying for fifth.
  • Lauren Keener followed not too far behind with a 9.700.
Rotation Four – Floor – 49.350
  • Elise Tisler picked up a huge new career high, logging a 9.925 to place first overall. The junior improved from her season opener score by .075, tying for the third best score in program history.
  • Clara Hong earned a season high 9.875 for fourth place.
  • Jenna Weitz, Carmella Calafati and Grace Vaillancourt all received 9.850s.
  • Felicia Poblete competed in the floor lineup for the first time this season, posting a 9.800.
