FARMINGTON, Pa. – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the third and final round of the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational. The Tigers would remain in 11
th overall after the tournament's second shooting rounds of 310-312-296=918(+54).
Hosts West Virginia won the tournament shooting rounds of 288-291-287=866 (+2). Mountaineer junior Kaleb Wilson took the individual win shooting 7-under par and posting scores of 71-68-70=209.
Michael Matheson was Towson's standout performer in the third round shooting 2-under par, the only under par round of the tournament from a Towson golfer. He finished tied for 33
rd shooting rounds of 76-81-70=227.
Sky Aung also tied for 33
rd individually shooting rounds of 75-79-73=227, his 1-over par third round was the second-best Towson round of the tournament.
Joshua Galindo (79-75-77=231) was the only other Tiger to break the top 50. He was one of only two Tigers to not post an 80-stroke round.
Ariihau Faana (82-77-76=235) and
Poon Nantsupawat (80-82-85=247) rounded out the Towson competitors in 58
th and 69
th respectively.
Matthew Gonnello (77-79-83=239) competed as an individual and placed 65
th.
