Towson Men’s Basketball Signs Three to NLI

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team signed three players during the early signing period. Jaquan Womack, Jon Barton and Brandon Holmes all signed national letters of intent during the early signing period. Womack, Barton and Holmes will start their Towson careers next fall.

"We are excited to get these three players in early. They fit the type of talent that we look for. They all come from winning programs and share the type of values that we have had over the last few years in a couple of our current Tigers. The staff did a really great job in recruiting these guys especially Chris Conway and John Auslander. To get three players from programs like this is incredibly exciting for us," Towson head coach Pat Skerry said of the class.

Jaquan Womack | 6-7 | Guard/Forward
Manassas, Va. / Paul VI

Womack comes to Towson from powerhouse Paul VI coached by Glenn Farello where he ranks as the number nine recruit from the state of Virginia, according to ESPN. He earned Honorable Mention All-WCAC honors last season. Womack helped Paul VI win the WCAC Championship last season and earned WCAC Honorable Mention honors. The forward played for Nike Team Takeover and helped them reach the EYBL Peach Jam Final Four shooting 46.3% from the floor. He is rated by 24/7 Sports and ESPN as a three-star recruit.

"Jaquan is a 6-7, 230-pound versatile forward who really knows how to win. He will bring immediate talent, toughness and leadership to our program. His mom, Tashia, has done a really great job with him. He plays for arguably the best high school program in the country in Paul VI, coached by Glenn Farello. He plays for Team Takeover, where we recently had Charles Thompson, Christian May, Tyler Coleman and Dylan Williamson come from," Skerry said of Womack.

Jon Barton | 6-4 | Guard
Waldorf, Md. / St. John's College High School

Barton comes to Towson from St. John's College High School in Washington D.C., coached by Pat O'Connor. He was named to the All-HGSL First Team and to the DCSAA Second Team. Barton was voted the HGSL Breakout Player of the Year. He helped St. John's College High School win the WCAC Championship and earned WCAC Honorable Mention honors. He has made the honor roll every quarter.

"Jon is a 6-4 combo guard who can play anywhere on the floor. His game really took off this summer and we fell in love with his passing, toughness, defense and rebounding. He knows how to impact a game. John epitomizes Towson toughness," Skerry said of Barton.

Brandon Holmes | 6-9 | Forward
Columbia, Md. / Mount St. Joesph's

Holmes joins the Tigers after playing for Mount St. Joseph's in Baltimore. He is a two-time BCL champion and a MIAA A Conference Champion. Holmes has helped Mount St. Joseph's win 75 games during his time.
