TOWSON, Md. – Towson University infielders Casey Bishop and Bryce Frederick have each been named 2024 Preseason All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) honorable mentions, announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. In addition, Towson was picked to finish 11th in the predicted order of finish.
 
Bishop led the Tigers at the plate last season, batting .325 in 209 at-bats. The current redshirt sophomore plated 34 runs with 11 doubles, two triples and five home runs in 51 games. Bishop finished tied for fifth in the league with 22 stolen bases on 23 attempts.
 
Frederick earned preseason conference honors after leading the Tigers with 14 home runs and 56 runs batted in. He finished the season batting .299 with 16 doubles in 56 games. Frederick registered eight steals on nine attempts.
 
Northeastern was selected first in the order of finish with eight first-place votes. UNCW trailed the Huskies with four first-place votes. Conference newcomer Campbell was selected third, followed by Charleston, Elon and Delaware.
 
William & Mary was predicted to finish seventh, followed by Stony Brook, Hofstra and North Carolina A&T. Monmouth rounds out the group in twelfth.
 
Towson opens the 2024 campaign in Spartanburg, S.C. with four games, two against Wofford and two against Bucknell. First pitch Friday is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
