TOWSON, Md. – As the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) gets set for the upcoming year, four Tigers have been named to PLL training camp rosters in preparation for the first games.
Colby Barsz will be headed to the Utah Archers training camp for his first season, while three others return to the PLL:
Ryan Drenner and
Zach Goodrich are back with the Boston Cannons while
Koby Smith returns to the New York Atlas.
All four will report to training camp in Albany, New York for the upcoming season, which begins on June 1 at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium on the campus of the University at Albany.
Barsz was drafted 24
th overall in the 2024 PLL Draft by the Archers. The 2024
Inside Lacrosse Media Third Team All-American was a three-time All-CAA honoree with Towson, finishing with 64 career caused turnovers.
Drenner is set for his eighth professional season and sixth in the PLL, being a four-time All-Star, including each of the last three years. In 2023 with the Cannons, Drenner notched 24 points on 15 one-point goals, one two-point goal and seven assists in 10 games. The midfielder has played 70 professional games, tallying 136 points and 83 ground balls.
Goodrich, the third overall pick in the 2019 PLL Draft, will enter his sixth professional season, all with the Cannons, earning All-Star status three times plus was the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year in Major League Lacrosse (MLL). The SSDM has played in 55 career games, earning 76 ground balls and 42 caused turnovers.
Smith, the fifth overall pick in the 2022 PLL Draft, returns for his third year with the Atlas. The LSM has played in 14 professional games, having 15 ground balls, five caused turnovers and three two-point goals.
