SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador – Rising senior
Cristal Cuervo of the Towson University track & field team competed in the XXXIV Central American Games this past Friday and Saturday in the 400m and 200m.
Cuervo was crowned the champion in both events, bringing home two gold medals after representing her home country of Panama in the games.
On Friday, Cuervo competed in the 400m. She dominated her heat, winning by nearly 2 seconds after clocking a 53.64 to take first place. The time was her third fastest of the outdoor season and third time ever breaking 54 seconds in the event.
She wrapped up her time in El Salvador on Saturday with another gold medal performance, winning the 200m with a time of 23.72 which is her third fastest time in the event this season.
