TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University football team has returned and kicked off its 2024 preseason camp this morning.
 
The Tigers finished the first day of fall camp with the first game of the 2024 season exactly one month from today.  Towson worked out on the Lower Fields Complex, where the Tigers will hold a majority of practices this preseason.
 
It was a beautiful day on South Campus as the Tigers practiced team and individual drills, including 7-on-7 and conditioning.
 
"I feel much better than year one, credit to our guys having a great summer," said head coach Pete Shinnick.  "Coach [Jake] Vieux and his staff did a fantastic job prepping them for this day.  We were able to get a lot done, and I feel great about it."
 
Towson is preparing for the second season under Coach Shinnick.  Last year, the Tigers earned road victories over then-top-15 opponents New Hampshire and William & Mary.  Going 4-4 in CAA play, the Tigers have earned a .500 or better CAA year four of the last five fall seasons.
 
"There were certain things we wanted to get done; we wanted to transition better, we want to have a little more urgency when we were going against each other, we want to have more attention to detail," said Shinnick.  "We checked the box on all of those, and now we gotta get better tomorrow."
