TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's golf team has released the fall slate of the 2024-25 season, announced by head coach
Mike Larkin.
"We've got a great lineup of events this fall in terms of host teams and golf courses," Larkin stated. "This will be a good opportunity to see where we stack up to start the season."
Last season, the Tigers saw two third-place finishes; one at the Lehigh University Invitational and another at the Southern Invitational. The team carded its lowest 18-hole score of the 2023-24 season at the Southern Invitational, shooting a combined 282 (-2). Rising sophomore
Sky Aung held the team's lowest average, finishing 22 rounds with a 73.77. Recent graduate
Brad Riley followed closely behind, finishing his final collegiate golf year with a 73.79 after 28 rounds. Returner
Ariihau Faana rounded out the top three spots with an average of 74.22 after 23 rounds.
Michael Matheson,
Joshua Galindo,
Jai Sheth and
Poon Nantsupawat are other notable returners who each played at least 14 rounds last season.
"We have a bunch of guys who are hungry to improve on last year's results," Larkin added.
The Tigers stay local for their first tournament of the season, heading to Manor Country Club in Rockville, Maryland for the USF/Howard Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament takes place on September 9 and 10.
The following week the Black & Gold attend the Doc Gimmler for the eighth consecutive season on September 16 and 17 at the Bethpage State Park. The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on the red course and the final round of play is set to take place on the black course.
West Virginia University then hosts Towson for the Nemacolin Collegiate Invitational at the Mystic Rock Golf Course in Farmington, Pennsylvania on September 30 and October 1.
The fall campaign concludes for the Tigers with the Georgetown Intercollegiate hosted in Westfield, New Jersey at the Echo Lake Country Club on October 14 and 15.
