FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the first two rounds of the Doc Gimmler Tournament today. The Tigers currently sit in 10
th place at 17-over par after shooting 288-289 in the first two rounds.
Columbia is currently in first place after shooting rounds of 279-275 to finish day one at 6-under par. Columbia's Grant Lester (66-68) and St. John's Peicheng Chen (65-69) are tied for first place individually at 6-under par after two rounds.
Sophmore
Sky Aung (68-71) led the Tigers on day one highlighted by shooting 2-under par in round one. Aung would birdie four times on the front nine in round two to temporarily hold a tie for first place before finishing round two 1-over par. Aung is tied for 13
th at 1-under par after day one.
Junior
Poon Nantsupawat had a very consistent day one overall, he shot 70 in round one followed by a 71 in round two in which he birdied two of his final five holes. Nantsupawat currently sits tied for 19
th at one over par.
Ariihau Faana (75-71) is tied for 46
th after two rounds.
Michael Matheson (75-76) and
Adam Green (75-77) round out Towson's day one performers in T-64
th and T-67
th respectively.
After playing the first two rounds on the Bethpage Red Course, the third round will be played on the Bethpage Black Course, tee times begin at 9:00 a.m., with
Adam Green leading off Towson at 9:09 a.m..
