TOWSON, Md. – Towson University guard
India Johnston was named a Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason All-CAA Second Team selection, the league office announced Thursday.
Johnston paced the Tigers with 12.5 points per game on 37.4% shooting from the field, adding a team-best 2.5 assists. The Delaware product was effective from behind the arc, hitting 52 triples at a 34.7% clip. The senior shot with improved efficiency in league play during her junior campaign, shooting 38.7% from the field and 35.9% from three-point range. She added 2.5 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 34.3 minutes per game in 32 games played.
In the 2025-26 CAA Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, Towson was picked to finish seventh with 79 total points.
Charleston, Drexel and North Carolina A&T split the league's first-place votes, with Charleston receiving eight, Drexel getting two and North Carolina A&T getting three. The Cougars finished first in the poll with 139 total points. Drexel (125) and North Carolina A&T (124) were separated by just one point in second and third place, respectively.
Campbell was the lone other team to receive more than 100 points, finishing fourth with 112. The gap between Elon, the reigning champion William & Mary Tribe and Towson for fifth, sixth and seventh was just eight points. The Phoenix finished fifth with 87, the Tribe were sixth with 83 and the Tigers rounded out the top seven with 79 points.
Monmouth finished eighth with 71 points, and the Hofstra Pride were not far behind in ninth with 67 points. UNCW (39), Hampton (37) and Stony Brook (33) finished tenth, eleventh and twelfth, respectively, as the Northeastern Huskies round out the league with 18 points.
