BALTIMORE, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed in day one of the Thomas Murphy Invite hosted by Loyola on Friday. Both teams are in second place after the first round of events.

How it Happened: Women

• Addie Scott placed first in the 500 free finals with a time of 4:55.73 after swimming a time of 4:53.67 in the prelims.
• Kaitlyn Besner placed third in the 500 free finals with a time of 4:58.02.
• The Tigers top finisher in the 200 IM was Britney Denny who placed eighth.
• Ryland Zuniga took bronze in the 50 free finals with a time of 23.53.
• Scott, Riley Willett, Julianna Wahl and Zuniga placed second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:43.70.
• Scott, Emmy Erikson, Zuniga, and Summer Bontrager grabbed gold in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:28.06.

 
How it Happened: Men

• Christian Davidson posted a time of 4:28.99 to win the 500 free finals and sweep the event for Towson.
• Jed Gerner finished first in the 200 IM prelims before taking second in the finals with a time of 1:50.69.
• Daniel McLaughlin came in fourth in the 50 free finals with a time of 20.69.
• Sean Colson, Gerner, Benjamin Eischeid, and McLaughlin placed third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:28.45.
• McLaughlin, Stephen McDonald, Colson, and Davidson took first in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:41.82.
