Swim & Dive Set Two Meet Records on Thomas Murphy Invite Day Two

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams completed day two of the Thomas Murphy Invite at Loyola on Saturday. Both teams remain in second place after the second round of events. Day three tomorrow will see prelims start at 10 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.

How it Happened: Women
  • Addie Scott set a new invite record in the 200 free with a first place time of 1:49.07.
  • Summer Bontrager also made the podium in the 200 free, swimming a time of 1:52.56 to finish third.
  • Shannon Parrau set an invite record in the 3 meter dive with a score of 296.45.
  • Riley Williett placed fourth in the 100 fly finals with a time of 56.26.
  • Dylan Gustaff swam a time of 4:29.12 in the 400 IM in a fourth place effort.
  • Ellie Newman qualified for the 100 breast finals where she placed ninth.
  • Ava McKinney came in fourth in the 100 back with a time of 57.23.
  • Ryland Zuniga, Willett, Julianna Wahl, and Bontrager ended the day with a second place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:35.31.
 
How it Happened: Men
  • Sean Colson, Jed Garner, Benjamin Eischeid, and Stephen McDonald finished second in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:15.79.
  • Eischeid took his second silver of meet in the 100 fly after posting a time of 48.58 in the finals.
  • Christian Davidson placed fourth in the 400 IM with a time of 4:03.28.
  • McDonald made it a Tiger sweep of the 200 free with a winning time of 1:39.67.
  • Garner (53.43) and Harry Herrera (54.77) took the top two spots in the 100 breast.
  • Colson took silver in the 100 back with a time of 48.50.
  • Aidan Clark placed fourth in the 1 meter dive with a score of 284.15.
  • Isak Brkanovic, Daniel McLaughlin, Eischeid, and McDonald capped day two off with a second place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:21.67.
