TOWSON, Md. – The weekly awards keep coming for Towson University gymnastics as two student-athletes have picked up East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) weekly honors.
 
Isabella Minervini has been named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week while Chelsey Dennis is the EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week.
 
Both are repeat award winners this season.  It is the third time Minervini has been named the EAGL Gymnast of the Week while Dennis is the EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week for the second time.
 
Each helped Towson win the George McGinty Alumni Meet on Saturday night with a team score of 195.575, defeating Illinois State, Bowling Green and William & Mary.
 
Competing in her third all-around competition this year, Minervini won the all-around with a season-best 39.275 score, tying for 10^th all-time in Towson history.  She earned career-bests on beam (9.850) and vault (9.850), also having a 9.850 on the bars.
 
Dennis earned strong marks in the bars and beam for Towson, beginning with the bars individual title of the meet with a career-high 9.900, the only 9.9 on bars in the meet.  She followed with a 9.850 to anchor the beam rotation.
 
The gymnastics team heads to New Haven, Connecticut for a four-team meet at Yale on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m.  The Tigers will take on Yale, Brown and New Hampshire.
