SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. – The Towson University Men's Golf team completed the first round of the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate on Monday. The second round was halted due to rain and will resume tomorrow Tuesday, March 11.
The Tigers shot 24-over as a team in the first round and are currently in 20
th place.
Sky Aung shot 5-over 77 in the opening round to lead the way for Towson and currently is 12-over overall. Aung parred the final eight holes of the first round.
Arrihau Faana finished the opening round at 6-over 78 while leading the Tigers with three birdies in the round, Faana currently sits in 64
th place overall at 8-over.
Matthew Gonnello had two birdies in the first round and has two more so far in the second round and is currently 10-over after shooting 7-over 79 in the first round.
Poon Nantsupawat shot 6-over 78 in the first round and has two birdies so far in the second round. Nantsupawat is currently 11-over par overall.
Joshua Galindo was 12-over par when play halted after shooting 7-over 79 in the first round.
The Tigers have between six and seven holes remaining each in the second round, play will resume with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, teams will finish the second round before moving on to the final 18 holes.
