WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Towson University Men's Golf team completed the first two rounds of the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary on Monday. The Tigers are currently tied for tenth place with a 36-hole score of 29-over par (597) after shooting 12-over (296) in the first round and 17-over (301) in the second.
Mike Matheson leads the way for Towson so far posting the Tiger's best round of the day with an even par (71) score in the first round which he followed up with a four-over par (75) second round to be tied for 23
rd. Matheson also leads Towson in birdies with five through the tournament's first two rounds.
Sky Aung is tied for 35
th after posting a score of 6-over par on day one. Aung shot a 75 in the first round before posting a 73 in round two after shooting one-under par in the final ten holes.
Ari Faana currently sits in 53
rd place through 36 holes with a score of nine-over par after shooting a 76 (+5) in the first round followed up by an improved 75 (+4) in the second round after birdieing two of his final six holes.
Matt Gonnello shot rounds of 74 (+3) and 80 (+9) to be tied for 67
th at 12-over par heading into day two.
Jai Sheth posted a 78 (+7) in both the first two rounds and is currently tied for 76
th with a score of fourteen-over par.
Adam Green, competing as an individual, shot a 77 (+6) in round one before a five stroke improvement in the second round that saw him post a 72 (+1) to currently sit in 41
st place at seven-over par.
